We want to reduce waste, reusing where possible, and ultimately sending zero waste to landfill/incineration.

Are you interested in helping us create a Plastic Free Hanover? Get in touch or keep an eye out for our next meeting in the events section.

Some local Hanoverians are campaigning the council for improved recycling please see the petition to learn more

Are you interested in working towards using less plastic in Hanover, Brighton, UK or the world? We can all do our bit by refusing single-use plastics.
Talk to your local pub, café, shop and raise your concerns about plastic use, and discuss alternatives with them. Straws: There are lots of pubs in Brighton stopping the use of plastic straws – replacing them with metal or paper alternatives. Does your local still use plastic straws? Next time you have a smoothie or a G&T have a chat www.plasticpollutioncoalition.org/no-straw-please/

Plastic Water Bottles: We have recently seen London’s Borough Market taking steps towards phasing out plastic bottle sales (see: Guardian)
Could Hanover or Brighton be next? Refill Brighton are creating a business network in the city that identify as willing to refill your water bottle for free. Perhaps your local café is interested in joining and having a sticker in their window?
Visit Refill’s facebook page to find out more.  Surfers Against Sewage have created a Plastic-Free Living Action Plan (download here).
